The Drakensberg Mountains for Hiking Dads

The Drakensberg, meaning Dragon’s Mountain, stretches for 1,000 kilometres along the Eastern Escarpment and offers simply the best hiking experiences available anywhere. From short easy half-day walks within the immediate area of your lodge to challenging steep climbs and long trails for tough hikes, the ‘berg’’ just can’t be beaten.

A few of the famous hiking trails here include Rainbow Gorge near Bergville, Chain ladders hike in the Northern Drakensberg, Cathedral peak along Cathedral ridge (recommended for very experienced hikers only) and a short but also tough trail at Ploughman’s Kop in Royal Natal Park. The garden route for Golfing Dads
